Goals for Girls Under-16 Recurve Archers

The information given below is based on information taken from the AGB Rules of Shooting and is believed to have been accurate at the time of initial publication. Archers are advised to check for themselves for errors and updates.

Outdoor Classification Table – Girls Under-16 Recurve Archers

As your outdoor handicap improves so does your classification, although the rules are slightly different. While shooting a good score may reduce your current handicap it will not necessarily affect your classification as only certain rounds will qualify. As a beginner almost any round you shoot will count towards a classification if your scores are high enough, but as you progress through the grades fewer rounds qualify. To qualify for a classification you must shoot 3 qualifying rounds under AGB rules in a single calendar year at a tournament or club target day.

The table below shows rounds you are likely to shoot. Those shown in bold are recommended for your age group. Other qualifying rounds are shown in the AGB Rules of Shooting.

AGB Arrow Award for Juniors

Red Arrow Award

Archers must shoot 4 rounds, including at least one WA/Metric round, to qualifying scores in a single calendar year. At least one round must be shot at an open tournament.

Claims must be made on the appropriate claim form signed by the archer and the club records officer or secretary.

The qualifying scores are equivalent to a handicap of 50. The rounds shown are those recommended for your age group. Other rounds are shown in the AGB Rules of Shooting.


Six Gold Badge

sixgoldsThe Six Gold End Badge is for six consecutive arrows shot at one end into the Gold zone (9, 10 or X) during competition at a meeting organised by the AGB or any of its associated bodies or in competition at an associated club Target Day, under AGB Rules of Shooting.

Minimum qualifying distances: 40 yards or 40 metres

The badge is not claimable on sighters and only one badge can be claimed. Claims must be made on the appropriate claim form which must be signed by the tournament organiser or, in the case of a club target day, the club secretary.


Rose Awards

Rose Awards are open to archers shooting National Record Status York, Hereford, Bristol I-V tournaments that have been accorded “Rose Award” Status.

An archer may only claim for the score level achieved, may only claim it once and may not subsequently claim for a lower award. Claims must be submitted to the AGB, on the appropriate claim form, through the organiser of the tournament at which the score was achieved.


WA Star Awards and WA Target Awards

WA Star awards and WA Target awards are open to seniors and juniors alike but there are no special rounds for juniors. The qualifying scores start at around a handicap equivalent of 40, so if you have progressed that far details can be found on the Ladies recurve archers page.


Six Clout Badge

The Six Clout Badge is for six consecutive arrows shot at one end into the Clout, ie the 5 zone, of a AGB Clout during competition at a meeting organised by the AGB or any of its associated bodies or in competition at an associated club Target Day, under AGB Rules of Shooting. The badge depicts a stylised target face with 6 arrows in the gold zone over a label indicating that it is for Clout shooting.

Qualifying Distance: 100 yards

The badge is not claimable on sighters and only one badge can be claimed. Claims must be made on the appropriate claim form which must be signed by the tournament organiser or, in the case of a club target day, the club secretary.
