Goals for Boys Under-18 Recurve Archers

The information given below is based on information taken from the GNAS Rules of Shooting (the Green Book) and is believed to have been accurate at the time of initial publication. Archers are advised to check for themselves for errors and updates.

Outdoor Classification Table - Boys Under-18 Recurve Archers

As your outdoor handicap improves so does your classification, although the rules are slightly different. While shooting a good score may reduce your current handicap it will not necessarily affect your classification as only certain rounds will qualify. As a beginner almost any round you shoot will count towards a classification if your scores are high enough, but as you progress through the grades fewer rounds qualify.

To qualify for a classification you must shoot 3 qualifying rounds under GNAS rules in a single calendar year at a tournament or club target day. For Junior Master Bowman you must shoot 4 qualifying rounds, at least one of which must be shot at a meeting held by FITA, FITA members or GNAS, or at National Record Status Meetings.

The table below shows rounds you are likely to shoot. Those shown in bold are recommended for your age group. Other qualifying rounds are shown in the GNAS Rules of Shooting (page SAP 7-8).
