Leamington Juniors in Staffordshire
Two of our juniors, Caitlin and Michael McCarthy took part in the Staffordshire county and open junior championships at the weekend. It was a FITA 18, held in Stoke-on-Trent. Unfortunately the shoot was not well attended and the venue was unheated, but both archers shot well, Caitlin scoring 479 and Michael 259, reducing both their handicaps. Both were awarded silver medals in their respective categories.

Olympic archer Naomi, together with paralympic gold medallist Danielle Brown, GB Team Manager Hilda Gibson, international judge Graham Potts and coach project development manager Ollie Holt appeared before the cameras at the BBC's Television Centre in West London, to take on the team of Eggheads, made up of five people who have achieved fame and notoriety by winning other TV quiz shows, such as ‘Mastermind’ and ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’.
"It was terrific fun and we all had a great day” said Naomi. The programme will be broadcast later in the year, probably in August, and until then the result of the contest is secret.

Paul McCarthy gets a Robin Hood

During a recent practice session Paul McCarthy joined the happy band of merry archers who have shot a Robin Hood. He managed to shoot one of his carbon arrows straight down the centre of Paul Roberts' aluminium arrow as shown in the picture.
Not to be outdone, a couple of nights later Paul Roberts managed to Robin Hood one of his own arrows. Bit of an expensive week.....
